Getting Started

Question

Answer

How does a player activate their account?

After a coach adds a player to a service, the player receives an invitation email. They click the link in the email to set up their password and activate their account. If they haven't received the email, the coach can resend it from the Action Items tab under 'Outstanding Invitations.'

How do I add a new player to a service?

Go to the service, click the 'Athletes' tab, then click 'Add Athlete.' You can search for existing athletes in your organization or create a new athlete profile by entering their name, email, date of birth, position, height, and weight.

How do I create a new service?

From the Organization Dashboard, click the 'New Service' button in the top right. You'll be prompted to name the service, select a type (Team, Camp, Clinic, etc.), choose a sport, and configure billing (Org-Pay or Athlete-Pay).

Can an athlete be in multiple services?

Yes. An athlete can be enrolled in multiple services simultaneously. Their Player Intelligence data is shared across all services — you don't need to re-enter it.

What does 'Org-Pay' vs. 'Athlete-Pay' mean?

Org-Pay means the organization covers the subscription cost for athletes in that service. Athlete-Pay means each athlete pays for their own subscription individually. You set this when creating a service.

Data Collection

Question

Answer

How do I submit video for a player?

Video can be uploaded by the coach via the web app or by the athlete through the mobile app. On the web, go to the athlete's Mechanics tab and click 'Change Video Input' to upload a new swing video. On mobile, athletes can record and upload directly from the app.

What bat sensors does Pelotero support?

Pelotero integrates with common bat sensors. Bat sensor data is entered or synced through the mobile app. Once connected, sensor readings for Bat Speed, Bat Acceleration, and Bat Power are automatically pulled into the athlete's Power profile.

How often does data need to be collected?

The minimum is monthly for all four data types: Video, Bat Sensor, Batted Ball, and Game Performance. The platform will flag athletes whose data is more than 30 days old with an orange warning indicator.

What is 'batted ball data'?

Batted ball data captures exit velocity, launch angle, and similar metrics from a batted ball tracking device (like a Rapsodo or HitTrax). This data feeds into the Performance score and helps coaches understand how hard and how efficiently players are making contact.

A player's data collection icons are all orange — what does that mean?

Orange icons mean that specific data type has not been collected within the required timeframe (usually 30 days). Visit the Action Items tab and click 'Add Data' next to the player's name to enter or request the missing data.

How does the coach update data on behalf of a player?

Coaches can enter data for players directly through the web app. Go to the service's Athletes tab, click the player's name, then navigate to the relevant tab (Mechanics, Power, Performance) and use the data entry option. Alternatively, use 'Game Data Entry' in the Athletes tab for bulk game performance entry.

Player Intelligence Scores

Question

Answer

What are the three Player Intelligence scores?

Mechanics (based on swing video analysis), Power (based on bat sensor data), and Performance (based on game/at-bat data). Each is scored 0-100. The overall Player Intelligence score is derived from these three pillars.

Why is a player's score not showing?

Scores require up-to-date data. If any of the three data types (video for Mechanics, bat sensor for Power, game data for Performance) has not been collected, the corresponding score may be incomplete or unavailable. Add the missing data to unlock the full score breakdown.

What does a score of 60, 80, 90 mean?

Scores are benchmarked against age-appropriate competition levels. A score of 90+ in Power indicates professional-level bat metrics. 80+ in Mechanics means the athlete's swing checkpoints are mostly Great. 60 in Performance suggests areas like timing and accuracy need work. Scores are relative, not absolute.

How are Mechanics scores calculated?

Mechanics scores are based on AI analysis of swing video. The system evaluates 10+ checkpoints across three phases (Gather, Load/Launch, Contact) and rates each as Great, Okay, or Poor. The overall Mechanics score (0-100) is an aggregate of these checkpoint ratings weighted by importance.

How are Power scores calculated?

Power scores compare the athlete's bat sensor readings (Bat Speed, Bat Acceleration, Bat Power) to benchmarks for their age group across four levels: Lower Level, High School, College, and Professional. Scores reflect where the athlete falls relative to these benchmarks.

Why did a player's score drop?

Score drops typically mean new data was collected that reflects a decline in performance, or outdated high-performing data was replaced with more recent lower-performing data. Review the Score History chart (6 months) on the service Dashboard to see the trend and identify which pillar declined.

Programs & Sessions

Question

Answer

What is the difference between a Program and a Session?

A Program is the overall training plan template — it defines the exercises, sets, reps, and structure for a given training phase. A Session is a specific instance of running that program on a particular date with a specific group of athletes. Think of a Program as the playbook and a Session as the actual game.

How do I create a training program?

Go to the service's Programs tab and click 'New Program.' You'll define the program name, date range, type, and build out the workout blocks with exercises, sets, and reps. Programs are reusable and can be assigned to multiple sessions.

How do I create a session?

Go to the service's Sessions tab and click 'Create Session.' Name the session, set the date, and select a Program Template. The session will automatically populate with the exercises from that program template for each enrolled athlete.

Can I add an athlete to a session after it's created?

Yes. Open the session and click the 'Add Athlete' button to add additional players to that specific session.

How do I mark a workout as complete?

Inside a session, you can mark individual exercises complete or click 'Mark Completed' to complete an entire athlete's workout at once. The 'Complete All' button marks all athletes in the session as done simultaneously.

What does workout adherence mean?

Workout adherence measures how consistently athletes are completing their assigned training sessions. It's displayed as a percentage or progress ring (e.g., 0/4 Workouts). Low adherence triggers an entry in the Action Items tab so coaches can follow up.

Technical & Account Issues

Question

Answer

A player says they didn't receive their invitation email.

First, check the Action Items tab > Outstanding Invitations to confirm the invite was sent. If it's there, click 'Send Reminder' to resend it. Ask the player to check their spam/junk folder. If still not received, verify the email address on file is correct — it may need to be updated.

How do I add a coach to my organization?

Go to Top Nav > [Org Name] > Coaches, then click 'Add Coach.' Enter the coach's email address. They'll receive an invitation to create their account. You can manage their permissions using the 'Permission' button next to their name.

How do I archive a service?

Open the service, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right of the service header, and select 'Archive.' Archived services can be viewed by changing the Status filter on the Organization Dashboard to 'Archived.'

Can athletes see their own data?

Yes. Athletes have their own login and can view their Player Intelligence scores, workout history, and training programs through either the web app or the Pelotero mobile app. They cannot see other athletes' data.

How do I reset a player's password?

Players can reset their own password using the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page. Coaches cannot reset athlete passwords directly, but can direct athletes to the password reset flow.

The app is showing 'Page not found' for certain sections.

Some pages in the app are dynamically routed and require navigating through the interface rather than direct URL entry. Return to the Organization Dashboard and navigate from there. If the issue persists, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.

How do I change the organization my account is associated with?

Go to Top Nav > [Your Name] > Change Organization. If you manage multiple organizations, you can switch between them without logging out.

Can I change an athlete's email address once I have created their account?
No, athlete emails can only be changed by submitting a formal request to Pelotero. However, if you have added an athlete to a service with an incorrect email, and have yet to collect data for that player, you may delete that account, and create a new one with the correct address.

Mobile App

Question

Answer

Where can I download the Pelotero mobile app?

The Pelotero app is available on the App Store for iOS devices. Search 'Pelotero' in the App Store or ask your coach for the direct download link.

What can athletes do in the mobile app?

Athletes can: view their training program, log workout sessions, upload swing video, connect and sync bat sensors, enter game performance data, and review their Player Intelligence scores — all from their phone.

Can coaches use the mobile app?
